RIP West Hollywood Mouse
I was all dressed up to meet my friends for a drink last night.
I got dropped off on the corner of the street (while my friend parked) and I started my 2 block walk to the bar. A young, pretty blond woman was crouching on her hands and knees staring at something on the ground and so I walked up to her.
A cute gray mouse was sick and just lying down on the sidewalk. I felt so bad watching it struggle. It didn’t even move for five minutes until I let it crawl onto my shoe. My goal was to get it back into the bushes so it wouldn’t cross the street.
Someone said that it was Ratatouille (from the movie). A few people stopped by to give their condolences to the little thing.
The young blond woman, whose name was Kelly, didn’t want to leave the mouse there (and neither did I). I said I would take it to my vet the next day if she could “babysit” it overnight.
We put the mouse in a “to go” box from the nearby restaurant and Kelly took it home.
Here’s a picture of the mouse in the “to go” box:

Kelly called me about an hour later to let me know that our beloved WeHo Mouse had passed away while she was making it a little place to stay for the night.
Oh well… I think it would’ve been nice to have a happier ending, but the mouse was in pain. I hope it wasn’t poisoned.

Oh, poor mouse! Thank you, Jon, for posting about this little one and his/her painful death — even though it’s “just a mouse”. And a thank you to kind-hearted Kelly, for caring so much and wanting to help.

It’s so nice to see such compassion towards a mouse from a walking by person. She didn’t know what to do, but couldn’t leave her/him still.
That is truly nice to see.
THANK YOU KELLY
. Thank you too Jon for having proposed your help for the mouse.
Now she could assist you (Jon) in helping the dogs, it seems natural with her. ^^
Poor baby, hope the mouse felt a little bit comforted by the help.
